a little help for the opposite sex....

Ok...I admit it! I'm guilty of searching the personals online. Ever since my friend and I signed up over 2 years ago, I tend to revisit every now and then....maybe just hoping that I'll come across my true love....or maybe just to realize that I'm better off single. BUT!! It gets a little discouraging when all the pictures you see are either blurry, dark, far away, or CREEPY!!!

That being said, I'm going to give a few tips for those of the opposite sex on how to post a picture when you're trying to impress/attract a woman!

Tip one: If you're using a webcam, make sure you're actually looking FORWARD in the picture. I'm sure the software allows for the deletion of the pictures showing you looking at the spot on your ceiling.

Tip two: Make sure your picture is actually of your face and not of you 50 miles away! Oh, and no sunglasses....who knows what you're hiding behind those shades!

Tip three: Please, please, PLEASE!!! For the love of God and all that's Holy, do not, I repeat do NOT post a picture which makes you look like either Satan or Jack the Ripper! (on a side note: It's especially hilarious to see that sort of picture with a headline of "Cute & cuddly guy seeks...." or some other lighthearted phrase which doesn't correlate with your picture at all!)

Tip Four: If you have to use a picture of you with your ex...DON'T use it without cutting her out first! However, if the girl in the picture is say, your cousin or sister, it would be best to cut them out as well. One reading your profile cannot tell from the picture who this girl is or what her relation to you is, so it would be best to either not use the picture or cut the unnecessary people out!

Tip Five: Don't use your high school/college picture no matter what! More than likely you look NOTHING like this picture and therefore will be falsely advertising!

Tip Six: Speaking of false advertising....I think it best to not post a picture of a famous or slightly famous person. Case in point...did you know that Ralph Macchio (aka The Karate Kid) lives in North Canton and still wears his bandana from Mr. Miyagi? Oh and C. Thomas Howell lives somewhere around here too. Interesting, eh? Or, my new favorites are those with pictures of models as their picture! That tells me that I must really not want to look at you if you have to resort to putting a picture of a really hot guy on your profile instead of your own.

Tip Seven: The biggest and best tip I can think of is....get ready for's fairly simple too.....SMILE!!!!! :)

That's all I can think of right now. The only other thing I can say is that when you're writing your little profile, do us all a favor and USE the English language! I know that kids these days aren't getting the foundations that we know PHONICS and whatnot! [and I know NO ONE'S getting the Big 11 sheets anymore! :( ] So please, check your spelling and grammar in Word or works or some program that has a spell check. BUT! Also do a re-read just to be sure. Spellcheck isn't the end-all-be-all of catching mistakes!

I hope these tips will help you in your search for "Miss Right" or "Miss Right Now". I will check in now and then to see how you have progressed! Good luck!

Big time BS

Just thought I'd share how my final final went. I'm never sure if I answer his questions or not. The final, as like the mid-term, was an essay question. And ONLY ONE choice of one from at least two. Nope...just one. One question with about 50,000 mini-questions within. Again, still never sure if I answer his question, but I put as much info as I could in somewhat of a coherent fashion onto 2 pages....hopefully that will give me some credit!!!!

Ok...that's it for this semester. But have no fear! The lifeless life of this ID student will continue throughout the I still have no life!! :)

Procrastinator strikes again

I've finished with one exam, one presentation and am now procrastinating on studying for my last exam which takes place tonight. I have yet to study for it. I really didn't study too hard for this morning's final and think I did well on it. Although, I could have probably flunked it and still got an 'A' in the class. However, tonight's class is a little different. I probably need to get an 'A' on the exam to get an 'A' in the class. That's only b/c I got a 'B' on the first exam, yet 'A''s on all the quizzes and assignments. Take that back....I only know that I got an 'A' on the first assignment. I don't know what I got on the second one that I turned in EARLY! (Yes you read that right) So, here I sit, writing a blog instead of studying for my final. I'm not too concerned. It's an essay and although my prof is highly knowledgeable of this topic, I think I can do ok BS'ing it. I mastered that skill a long time ago! Well, since I've ran out of things to say (scary I know!), I think I'll head off and try to study...or at least find something else to procrastinate with!

the impossible....becoming possible

Get project?? When is it due??? Tomorrow!!! When did I get it done???? YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!! Shocking, I know! The procrastinator pulled it outta her yin/yang and got all, let me repeat, ALL of her projects done before they were due. What's left? Architectural History quiz tomorrow night (Cinco de Mayo!), turn in my lighting project on Saturday, then presentation and exams on Tuesday. That's it. I'll be done for the semester. Never thought this year would be over. For those seniors who said this year was "easy" for them last year, let me tell them, this one was HORRIFIC! Not that it was extremely difficult work-wise, it was just long and drawn out. The good news is that this is the last semester (hopefully) with this prof...*sniff, sniff* gonna miss that guy. The great news is that I'm done! As one person put it today (the hottie doc) "has the earth changed its axis?!" Apparently he's aware of my habits! I'm sure he loves me anyway! ;)

Feliz Cinco de Mayo! (Really think it oughta be a national holiday myself!)
