On the edge...

Just a quick post to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you. I will probably not be posting as often until this damn project is done. And that's on December 2nd. So, keep me in your thoughts while you out having fun, playing tennis, writing poems, brushing your teeth with kitty toothpaste, lounging around eating bon bons, and doing anything and everything else that's better than what I'll be doing.

It's going to be a very rough month, but I will try to post as I can. I'm sure it will be more venting about this project than cool posts. Just bear with me and I promise to be more uplifting and funny* after this is all over....until the spring semester starts. :(

*Unless you find all my problems, horror stories, rants and histerics funny, then you'll never notice a difference!

You Are 21 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

History/Civ Teachers Rejoice!!

What Your Sleeping Position Says

You are calm and rational.
You are also giving and kind - a great friend.
You are easy going and trusting.
However, you are too sensible to fall for mind games.

Many things have really ticked me off today.

To start with, we were told today that us project managers MUST come up with a schedule for our project by wednesday. We have to say what is to be done, when it's to be done, and who will be doing it. This is all because there are a couple groups who have slackers not doing ANY of their work. So, of course, let's punish the many because of the stupidity of the few.

Now, I thought that the whole point of this project was that if problems arise, they are taken up with the project manager. If nothing can be resolved there, then it goes to the principals (aka studio profs). Somehow this got thrown to the wolves and they just made an executive decision to make us do these schedules. These schedules will be checked weekly and if things aren't done according to the schedule, it affects our grade. Nice!

Another thing that ticked me off today was that all the stupid people in the world called where I work today. I had to answer the phones, so it really irritated me!! I can handle most things, but stupidity drives me nuts! I understand that there are those out there who are less fortunate and aren't as educated, but it's very frustrating for me when I have to repeat myself MANY times to the same person.

Finally, I was driving home, doing a moderate speed when not one, but TWO vehicles pulled out in front of me. Mind you it was raining so the roads are a little slicker. Also, the second vehicle didn't even bother to stop at the stop sign. Apparently the laws don't apply to him. To top it all off the first vehicle decides that he MUST pull out in front of me and the rest of the traffic behind me BUT do a maximum of 45-50 mph when the speed limit is 55 and I was holding that speed (ok or going a little over it, but still!!). Inconsiderate and careless drivers just tick me off! Now, if I were that first vehicle who cut someone off, I would have made sure that I went the speed limit or a little over. I wouldn't go slow. That's just STUPID! What's worse is that since there were two cars, I couldn't pass them since the second vehicle just stayed behind the first. I had to follow them for MILES!!! Once the first car turned onto the freeway, the second one took off. So, I was thinking "Um, why didn't you pass this ass BEFORE?!?!?!"

Must be my bad karma. I should probably work on getting some better karma, eh?
You are

At my "wits" end

I can't really think of anything witty to say today. I guess I'm tapped. It's been a fairly busy weekend and not all school related either.

Friday night I met some friends at TGIFriday's. It was great seeing them again since it's been about a year since we've gotten together. That itself makes me sad, but it's hard to coordinate schedules.

Anyway, the evening was fun. The conversation was great, the company was great, but then, there was the food. I must say that when my friend suggested TGIF's, my first thought was "Ugh! I'd rather eat cow tongue than go there!" But I didn't say anything b/c for one, it was written in an e-mail with no time to respond and two, I thought she really wanted to go there.

First off, my friend orders from the "Wild & Mild" menu where you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. So, the Chipotle Queso Dip and Chips comes out and there's a whole crock of dip and about 20 chips. Now, there's four of us at the table and we're sharing this dish. Even though the dip wasn't all that great, the waitress just took it away when she noticed the chips were all gone and didn't even ask if we would like more chips to finish the dip.

Then, the entrees come. My other friend and her sister order the Sizzlin' Chicken with Broccoli while her husband (the Wild & Mild man) ordered the Sizzlin' Chicken & Cheese. I, meanwhile, ordered the Bruschetta Chicken Pasta.

Upon delivery of these tasty treats, we inspect our meals and the three other people at my table realize they have just about the exact same meal. The only exception was that the girls' had broccoli and the husband had mashed potatoes. They all thought their meals looked bad, but thought they tasted ok. Everyone thought mine looked absolutely delicious, but I quickly dashed their hopes by telling them that it wasn't all that great. It was really bland. Although, the ciabatta garlic bread was great!

The drink refills flowed for us water drinkers, however it took until after we were all finished eating for my friend to get a refill of her iced tea.

For dessert, the wild & mild guy got the New York Style Cheesecake. When it's brought out to him the waitress says "Be careful the dish is really warm. It just got washed!" Now, call me crazy, but isn't cheesecake supposed to be kept cool??? At least all the ones I've made pretty much indicate this. So, my friend had to shovel it in so that it didn't start to melt into nothingness from the very warm dish.

During the 2 hours we were there, my friend took a tour of the ladies' room as well. She came out and her husband noticed her talking with another guy in the restaurant. He was calm and didn't assume she was flirting with this young thing. When she got back to the table she informed us that there were no paper towels in the fairly creepy bathroom. That's what she was telling the young man there.

So, Friday's has officially been taken off the list of places to eat. It now shamefully joins Applebees.

Saturday was different. I was up in Kent "working" on a project. I put working in quotes b/c we really didn't do much work. My friend decided that we needed to take a break. So we ran to JoAnn Fabrics. She needed to get some things for her Halloween costume. She's going as a saloon girl to compliment her bf's cowboy. Then we went to Staples to find some recycled paper for her project. They don't have any. :( Finally, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Steak and Shake. I must say, this was TONS better than TGIF's and I only got grilled cheese and fries. Yummy!!

Later that evening I stopped over at the newlywed's house. She and I went to the local bar & grille for a drink and some munchies. That was even better than TGIF's!

I headed home and after not being amused by SNL, I went to sleep.

Today, is kind of a boring day. I put the license plates on my car and now am writing this blog. Oh and I'm doing laundry too.

Now I know you're thinking:

"How can this girl stand having such an exciting life?!"

I'll tell ya, I can't.

Now, I'll be starting all the work I should have been doing throughout the weekend. And hopefully will get some of it done before it's time for bed.

Next up is another fun-filled week of school and work. Can it get any better???

Fantasies aren't fun

I joined a fantasy football league this year b/c my friend asked me to. Her husband put one together a few years ago and this year there were some teams available, so I joined.

The first week was awesome! I won my game and was first in the league with over 100 points! The commish (my friend's husband) threatened to throw me out of the league...I think he was just upset b/c I kicked his arse that game!!!

The second week comes and I didn't do so hot. I lost BIG TIME!

Then the third week comes and I lose

Same the fourth.

I'm getting a little frustrated with this now. I just looked at the preliminary results for today and I'm losing. I still have a small chance as I have one player left to play tomorrow night. I doubt it will help as last week I had players left to play on Monday night and I was winning for a little bit....then I wasn't. I lost the game...again. Ugh!

So, if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get a better team, please let me know!

Although I must say that some of my picks, which the guys scoffed at me for, did very well! Better than the top picks they chose.

Maybe my team needs a good cheer to get them motivated. Anyone??!!

Ho Hum

Yep, it's Friday night and I'm sitting here blogging. What should I be doing?
  1. Working on my 5 page bonus research paper on the 3 sites I went to last Saturday on Solar Day. (and since we all know how well I did on the first test...)
  2. Working on my group project for studio.
  3. Reading the 50,000 pages of text both of my profs feel I have the time to read in 3 days b/c what the heck are the weekends for but reading textbooks?! Oh and don't forget to fit in all the other work that's due on Monday and Tuesday too.
  4. Finding a building to study the daylighting and climate of for my ET group project. Which will be meeting tomorrow to work on it.

What would I rather be doing?
  1. Sleeping.
  2. Watching TV.
  3. Planning a trip to Disney World with Phats & Bats (tee hee).
  4. Reading over my TripTik for my trip to Atlanta in November.
  5. "BLOG-ging" with Seahag.

Got this from fu's blog, from Seahag's blog: This is me...supposedly.

You Are A: Frog!

froggyIndependent yet still part of a large community, frogs are unique creatures known for their distinctive sound and ability to hop. As a frog, you spend your days sitting on lily pads or climbing trees, searching for delicious insects to eat. While there are some frogs that aren't exactly cute, you are certainly not one of those!

You were almost a: Duckling or a Monkey
You are least like a: Groundhog or a BunnyCute Animal Test!

Sorry Batty....I'm posting my own choice for Man Meat

Man is he HOT!!!

I'm like Pavlov's dogs whenever I see him.

Test Results

Well, the results are in.

Here's how I did on my first test.

The one in black is mine, which is great b/c that means that I have the 10th highest grade in the class! Or you could see it as a tie for 8th. Either way, it's time to celebrate!

(side note: my grade is officially a 'D' just in case you were wondering)

Is it true or just another gov't conspiracy?

Was the moon landing fake?

I question this b/c just recently this topic has come up 3 times.

1st time: Co-worker mentions to me that she believes it was fake.

2nd time: Read it here on this blog

3rd time: Scene from The Family Guy

So, how do we find out what the truth is? Or do we just believe what we want about it?
It's just so weird that in such a short amount of time different people have mentioned this topic.
What's your take on this?

Word Verification

Just curious....anyone else have to enter a different word verification b/c they typed in the 1st one wrong???
