Project Update

All my drawings are done...may be some tweaking here and there, but for the most part they're ready to print!

I have my 3D model built minus some tweaks . Now all I have to do is figure out what finishes I'm going to use and then put those into Viz so I can render my model. The frustrating thing is that I can only do the rendering when the lab is open...which seems like never! There's one kid here who, when he's working, doesn't care how long you're in the lab as long as if you're the last one out, you lock up. I hear that this other kid who's working tonite though will kick you out at 11pm...and I only get to start working at 7:30pm. :(

So, keep your fingers crossed that I don't hit any major snags b/c it's almost too late to build a real model now oh and draw 3 perspectives to render!

I can't wait until May 6th, b/c then I can sleep! This staying up til 4am or so and getting up at 9 or 10am is for the birds! (although I'm getting more sleep than some others in my class)

MY (revised) CHECKLIST

  1. Floor Plan - DONE!
  2. Furniture Plan - DONE
  3. Sections - DONE!
  4. Elevations - DONEEEEEE
  5. Details - DONE!!!
  6. HVAC plan - DONE
  7. Power Data Plan - DONE
  8. Lighting & Circuitry Plan - Close to done
  9. Die from Exhaustion - Getting there...working really hard on this one!
  10. Custom Furniture Drawings - DONE!....ooops I lied! NOT DONE! :( YEA!!! DONE!!! :)

I won't be posting anything until all these drawings say "DONE!" by them. (kidna reminds me of Monster House...that's a cool show) Anyway, keep checking back to see how I'm doing. It was 3AM (4 if you spring ahead) when I finally went to sleep last night/this morning. We'll see how late I'll be up tonight. I will be taking a break from 10-11 to watch Grey's Anatomy though. LOVE that show too!

Update: I WILL have these done by Sunday so I can start working on all the other things I have to do for this project. If not, I'm quitting school and becoming a "lady of the evening" so I can pay off my loans!

As you can read, I didn't get these done by Sunday...whichever one I meant when I wrote that. I'm still working on these things. Then I have to work on my 3D model of my building so I can render it and try to do an animated walk-through of it. If I can't get that, then it's "bust-out-the-X-acto-knife-and-hope-I-don't-cut-my-hand-off-with-it" model building time.

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...yet. This week is the last big push to get this project done! It's due May 1st, so it's going to be rough. I still have to finish my documents and then my 3D model and then the animation. I'm on "vacation" this week, which only means that I don't have to go into work. I'll be spending it with countless all-nighters and praying that I get this project done. Some vacation. :(

ANTSY PANTSY

I've been sitting here in studio since about noon today and I'm getting really antsy. I just want to be done with these drawings so I can work on my perspective drawings in CAD and then use VIZ (that's the evil program from before) to render them. Then I also have to build 2 models. Then figure out how to bring this all together so it looks cohesive and not like I just pulled it outta somewhere and said "Voila! It's a project!"

I did take one break...for this ------>

I'm addicted to them!

But that was only about a 20 min break and that was at 5pm. I decided that it was break time again only b/c I noticed a friend sign off and I looked at his icon...it's a smurf. That got me thinking. I need to change my AIM icon. So, I thought about what cartoon character I love the most....and it slowly came to me......

Wakko Warner

I always loved the cartoon Animaniacs. It was hilarious! When I see it these days, it's rare, but I now get a joke that I laughed at when I was younger, but just didn't quite get. Wakko was my favorite b/c he's the goofy one. So, now, if you see me online, this will be my icon. At least until I get bored again and change it!

To update on my project, here's what I've got done this past week:
  1. Floor Plan - for the most part it's done
  2. Furniture Plan - again, kinda done, but not really. Need to find more furniture
  3. Sections - DONE! Well...still have to note them, but the drawing is done
  4. Elevations - started, but not done. Need to figure out how I'm designing the outside.
  5. Details - 3 out of the 6 are done.
  6. HVAC plan - the HVAC part of it is done, but the lighting part isn't
  7. Power Data Plan - started that just before doing this post
  8. Lighting Plan - actually doesn't exist since it's part of my HVAC plan!
  9. Circuitry Plan - nothing begun for this one
  10. Die from Exhaustion - working steadily on this one. Might be an all-nighter tonite!
  11. Custom Furniture Drawings - just realized this isn't on here. 1 of 3 done
That's pretty accurate for the most part. Plus I added:
  1. Contact firms for an internship - negative....haven't done a one!
  2. Finish portfolio - I opened it once, but then didn't do anything with it
  3. Find jobs for after internship/graduation - again...yeah right!
So, as you can see, I've been very busy this week, which was supposed to be the week that I got caught up....um...thinking that's not going to happen. It's going to take a miracle I think to get all these done by tomorrow!

It's also been extremely difficult to remain focused on this project b/c there's someone in here who has a very ANNOYING laugh! I can tolerate quite a bit, but this laugh is annoying. It's kinda reminds me of the one sidekick to Johnny the creep in Karate Kid. You know, the scene where they're at the tournament and Johnny & Danielson are fighting. Johnny does something to him (can't remember quite what at this moment), then they show the sensei and this little guy who's behind him smiling and laughing like a creepy guy. That's this guy in here. ANNOYING!!! Kinda makes you want to just go over to him and wrap duct tape around his head a few times!

Ok...back to work

Oh and I changed the video too. Hope you enjoy!

One more thing! Don't forget to Spring ahead if you're supposed to! :)
