Q & A

Ok, since Nabeel (newcomer to the DG blogsite) wondered what questions I was asked, I thought I'd post them here. Feel free to answer them yourself if you want.

  • What do you feel, other than your design qualifications, you would add to our company?
  • What are your good qualities?
  • What are your bad qualities?
  • Tell me a little about yourself.
  • What was your best class?
  • What was your worst class?
  • What is your long-term goal?
I know there were lots more, but I can't quite remember them right now. If I think of them, I'll add them on here.

Traveling with a 3-yr-old

My parents went to North Carolina to pick up my nephew from my sister as she was in the process of partially moving to NC for a job. (Her hubby is to follow with the rest about Mid-Sept) She did not have care for him there so Grandma and Grandpa selflessly offered to take him for a bit. Once they got back home to Ohio, I heard all about their travels with my nephew. The following are just a few excerpts:

When frustrated with the bathroom door he says: "Son of a Biscuit!"

After being told by a hotel employee that he could not go swimming b/c the pool was not clean (even though Grandma and Grandpa had told him this several times) he walks up to a gentleman and a young boy in the lobby and says: "You can't go swimming. The pool's closed!"

Upon seeing two women standing in the mini mart of a gas station he says: "Hi Ladies!"

Apparently he's gotten the shy qualities of his Auntie DG and not the bold ones of his mother (who used to walk up to people in church and say "Hi! I'm Tiggysmum! What's your name?") or his father (someone who talks MORE than my sister [if you can imagine that!])

It's been an interesting 2 1/2 days so far.....all I can say is it will either make me want to have kids someday or NEVER have kids, EVER! We'll see.....

This is ridiculous!

There are 2 border agents who are facing 20 years in prison for doing their job. They were trying to stop an ILLEGAL alien who was smuggling 800 POUNDS of marijuana into our country. They told him to stop, he did not. They were unable to apprehend him which means he got into our country to sell his drugs.

I can't see how, when we're in the time of war, these people who are brave enough to protect our borders are not allowed to do their jobs. I also can't see why his fellow agents and supervisors took immunity in order to turn against these two agent or why ANYONE in America would take the time to track down this scumbag to get him to testify against these agents. This scumbag is suing the US for $5 million b/c his civil rights were violated.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you HAD civil rights in a country of which you are not a citizen AND on top of that are entering it illegally AND bringing illegal drugs into it. Guess I didn't realize that we owed them rights.

You can read the whole story here and see what you think.

I went to the site grassfire.org and signed the petition that President Bush will get and hopefully will persuade him to pardon these agents. Their sentence is more extensive than that of a rapist, theif or murderer! And all they were doing was protecting us!

If you feel the same way as I do, please go to the site and sign the petition as well. I fear that we are living in a country that may one day fall. I hope it does not, however we are not on top of these situations that are happening in this world. We will be caught with our pants down and then there will be nothing left to do but surrender. In this day and age, we are not immune to attacks on our soil.
