And since I'm on it all day at work, I think I'm either developing Carpal
Tunnel or some other fun, wonderful ailment in my wrist. After using the computer (mainly the mouse) all day long, my wrist hurts when I bend it. And for more fun, my one finger has decided to act up even more then my wrist. It hurts all the time. It has the feeling like it has to "pop" to feel better, yet it won't. No matter how much I try to crack the knuckle, it won't. Then I just realize how painful it is and stop pushing on it which leads it back to feeling like it needs to "pop."I guess I shouldn't have gone into a profession that is so "mouse intensive." Perhaps I'll take Skii's idea and set my mouse up to be used by my left hand instead of my right. It will be weird to do in the beginning, but if it saves my right wrist, it's worth it.
So anyway, that's the reason behind my lack of posting and commenting. I do hope it is nothing serious and will go away soon. I'm probably heading down the same road as my dad and will have the rest of my life filled with joint pain. Speaking of joint, anyone know if that helps joint pain at all?!

I've had that problem in the past (when I worked in Chiropractic and had to lift heavy heating packs with tongs that were not appropriate for the job.) It did go away eventually but I still get pain once and a while.) Advil is the only recommendation I have.
Oh- and I use a right-handed mouse and am left handed (well ambi but you know that!) You'll adapt splendidly!

It is tricky, but you'll get the hang of it.. of course, I had to switch the Right and Left click setting, because my fingers wouldn't get the hang of that part.
Joints -- go for it!
i switch my mouse to the other side of my keyboard once in awhile. but not because of wrist pain, just to use a different part of my brain. it doesn't take that long to get used to actually.
you are a bad blogger, but your the best bad blogger out there and i love you!
Go to Wal MArt and buy some Glucosamine with Conjutine(sp)?
This will help I guarantee it. It takes about three weeks to really kick in.
Computer mouses are really badly designed. Your wrist has to curve up over the top of it which elevates your fingers so the blood doesn't pump up to them as easily as it should. If I could redesign them I would have a longer body on them for your whole hand to rest on that way your wrist is in a more naturally ergonomic position :-)
I'm almost ambidextrous too so at least I can swop over if I need to.
Hey nice photograph of the inside of your hand. Did it take long to peel back your skin for it! Not really sure why your hand is green though unless you have been rooting around in your mum's plants in the back yard again?! :-D
I've been trying to use the mouse with my left hand, but it's not working so well when I use CAD. I just don't have that fine motor skill developed yet. But I'll keep trying!
