So, the power outage last week only lasted for that one day where I work. However, for a few who work with me, it was their only source of power. They're supposed to get their power back today (one WEEK later!) and we'll see tomorrow if that actually happened.

And today is a day of mourning because it's the last day of Summer. I'm so bummed. I'm hoping that we actually get a fall this year and that it doesn't just turn to crap and go straight to winter. If you're not familiar with NE Ohio winters, it goes something like this: Most every day is gray and if it's not gray, it's snowing. Yep. That about sums it up.

Now, we can get a beautiful fall where we get warm sunny days. The sun just makes the fall colored leaves just glow. It's quite a sight to see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the fall we get. We've had others where it starts snowing before Halloween! Those, I don't like so much.

Last week of summer :'(

I'm so sad to see summer's truly my most favorite season and I get sad once September rolls around. It means school starts again, days are getting shorter, and the temperature is getting cooler (although that could just be the lack of sun spots which is causing us to head into global cooling unlike what all the enviroweirdos are saying).

Today I got a great surprise while driving to work. My boss called me and said that I could turn around and go home! AND I wasn't dreaming!!! We had bad storms last night and coupled with very strong winds from the evening on, it caused my work to be powerless. (shucks!) So, today I got to lounge around and do nothing.

Although, I actually did some work since there were also tons of leaves and debris in our yard. So, I raked them up and my dad hauled them away. At least we didn't have it as bad as our neighbors. They had another tree blow down. This time, however, it destroyed their car. It got smashed! It took a crew all day to get it cut into pieces and cleared away. I felt so bad for them since this is their second tree to fall in the past couple years.

It kept on raining off and on throughout the day with some sun sprinkled in between. Overall, it was a nice day off and we'll see if we have work tomorrow as well. The power company said it might take them 7 days to get it all restored, so we'll see. As of 3:30pm today, there still wasn't power there.

Keep your fingers crossed that I get another day off!!!!
